Regular Dells visitors, but first time Kalahari guests - we stayed in a Lodge Suite, in the Sands building. I will preface this review by admitting that I did book our stay pretty last-minute - so my expectations (and wallet) were prepared for such.
GREAT WOLF LODGE WISCONSIN DELLS HOLIDAY EVENTS 4TH OF JULY UPDATE
I would likely stay here again but they really need to update the locker room in/out situation. We also visited Tom Foolery on our last night, and the kids had a blast. There were quite a few places to have a quick bite, or a sit down meal without leaving the resort. Finally got through there, and the indoor park was so crowded that we turned around and went back to room for a while. (Some people next to us did not speak English and the announcement to vacate the waterpark was only in English and they did not understand what was happening.) So then everyone wanted to go to indoor park, and the narrow one way in/one way out locker rooms was crammed with people. Two of the days we were there, the outdoor park was closed down due to weather/lightening and to evacuate, everyone had to go through a small tiki hut gift shop and the line was long and slow moving. At Kalahari, you have to enter the indoor water park through the locker rooms/showers, where it gets very congested. Kalahari also opens their water parks for guests at other hotels (where Great Wolf is only for those staying at the resort) and so felt so much more crowded. Kalahari water parks were very nice and plenty to do for all ages. Having to deal with key cards (rather than the wrist bands that also serve as room keys), not having connecting rooms (there were 8 of us), and smaller bathrooms at Kalahari.
I'll try not to do many comparisons here, however, the ease of check in at Great Wolf surpasses that of Kalahari. First two times at Great Wolf Lodge, and this year at Kalahari. 2019 was our 3rd time to spend 4th of July in the Dells. Finally got through there, and the indoor park was so crowded that we.
